I thought about a PhD in Literature, French or Latin. Almost enrolled in Georgetown's MBA program. Toyed with the idea of studying graphic design. But instead I've been working on a home grown MBA and self-tutored digital illustration. I absolutely love my job in the coffee/service industry, and could hardly ask for a happier life, here fixing up my house, fiddling on my computer, smiling at my customers...Life is good. (Next stop: small business of my own?)

A determined Mark coaches Isaiah in the sport of standing (he says Isaiah stood--on his own--but alas, there was no one else to see it).

Bryan teaches Isaiah a thing or two.

Kim and Isaiah indulge in the joys of "Chicken Dance Elmo."

Once the crowd has gone...a little down time for our hosts.

I am quite a sorry blogger

Well, I'm guilty again of greedily gobbling up all the news and tidbits on everyone elses blogs, while completely failing to repay the favors with my own news.

I've been super, super busy: hosting parties, creating gift baskets for work (fun!!!), Christmas shopping (can you believe it? me? shopping BEFORE Christmas Eve? Well, believe it.) :) , playing with my new drawing tablet and my new (very amateur) skills on Photoshop, etc. I'm having a great time keeping busy. Tonight was the first night in quite awhile that I've slowed down long enough to get my head screwed on straight. I screwed it in so nice and tight that I fell asleep (konked right out after work) for a three hour nap this afternoon.

We had our first real snow last night (the first that stuck and was worth mentioning). Mark and I hurriedly raked the leaves in our front and back yard as the sun was setting on Sunday, so that we wouldn't be stuck with a heavy mulch come spring. Unfortunately, we had waited so long (and it turned out there were far more leaves than we realized--13 big bags!) that the mess already was a sticky, heavy, black mulch under the top layer and it was quite an icky chore. Fun though--our first house, our first leaf-raking together :)

Mark and I are avid watchers of Arrested Development. Since we don't have cable, we watch them on DVD and are always at least a season behind. But we absolutely love them! Anyone else caught on this show? Sometimes we sit down to watch a quick episode, and three or four shows later we finally pry ourselves away.

So...that's the news :)
