A Special Blend

Musings of a young, artistic homeowner.

Location: Baltimore, Maryland, United States

I thought about a PhD in Literature, French or Latin. Almost enrolled in Georgetown's MBA program. Toyed with the idea of studying graphic design. But instead I've been working on a home grown MBA and self-tutored digital illustration. I absolutely love my job in the coffee/service industry, and could hardly ask for a happier life, here fixing up my house, fiddling on my computer, smiling at my customers...Life is good. (Next stop: small business of my own?)

Christmas in Georgia

Christmas morning with Mom and Wood and Bryan and Kim has been full of lights and wrapping paper, ribbon and cinnamon rolls, coffee and tea and warm blankets.
Temperatures are running in the low 30's here--no snow though.
Mark is speding Christmas in Orange County, but we'll be meeting up to spend New Year's in San Francisco.
I have become the proud owner of a homemade fleece blanket, a pair of sexy dangly earings, a fabuous knife set, and a plethora of gift certificates (they sure do travel well, and won't I have a nice time shopping? :))
Pictures will be forth-coming...

Merry Christmas everyone!

Still in Baltimore...

Well, no pictures yet.
I'm still here in Baltimore (just this one last day).
I'm still here at work (it MUST be slow if I have time to post blogs).
I fly out tonight, oh what a joy!
Can't wait.
Can't wait.
Oh, but I already decided to relax today and let the vacation come to me. :)
Georgia, Norwalk, San Fran, here I come!

Au Revoir.

Post Orals Absence

Well, Mark passed his orals. Yes, more like crushed them into the ground with his heel (he did very well). As a result, I have been rather scarce around The Blend.
We have been quite busy enjoying the new X-Box Mark bought to celebrate his done-ness.
We have been eating out recklessly (who wants to cook when orals are over?)
We have been sleeping in late (he more than I--I do still work), laying around on the couch, enjoying the cold weather, watching movies.
All in all, we have been far too busy for this blogging business :)

But, I dropped Mark off at the airport this morning.
And I have fairly little to do at work as the semester has already come to an end.
So, here I am.
Dropping a little visit to my neglected fans.
I'll try to be back with pictures soon, but I'm afraid all I would have to offer are self-taken portraits of me pouting b/c my house is empty of Mark :)
(No, I haven't actually taken such pictures, but if pictures were demanded, that is what they would be.)

So far the highlight of my morning has been the discovery that my sister, Sarah, has started up her very own blog:
http://homeofthebudds.blogspot.com
A place where ample pictures of my niece, Ellen, can be viewed (to my utter delight).
(how does one spell "niece" "neice" anyway? it doesn't seem to come up in the ryhme about "i"s and "e"s...)

Enough rambling.

Anne as Regional Manager

Wow, how things are moving quickly. I've been regional manager of a seven-site region for about 3 weeks now, and I just got a phone call from my boss that he is going to create a bonus system and use me as the pilot-tester. More money is usually good :)
