I thought about a PhD in Literature, French or Latin. Almost enrolled in Georgetown's MBA program. Toyed with the idea of studying graphic design. But instead I've been working on a home grown MBA and self-tutored digital illustration. I absolutely love my job in the coffee/service industry, and could hardly ask for a happier life, here fixing up my house, fiddling on my computer, smiling at my customers...Life is good. (Next stop: small business of my own?)

How I spend my Saturday mornings...

Contrary to popular belief, I am not always working... :)

Here is where I spend most Saturday mornings with Mark, getting bagels for breakfast and picking up the dry cleaning:

(hopefully Mark will forgive me. he did not want this picture to be put up. And, yes, he does often wear his sun glasses inside.)

Outer Banks 2007

A couple of weeks ago, Mark and I rented a house in Salvo, on the Outer Banks, with a bunch of friends from Mark's school. There was lots of sun, swimming, and lounging about :)

There were two more beach-goers than this, but they had to leave earlier in the week.

Some close-ups...

Here's a picture of Mark on a cool, deserted beach we found on Ocracoke Island. And here's one of me... (always the photographer...never the photograph.) :)

One night, the house behind us burned to the ground. It was the most surreal thing I've ever experienced. Especially because everyone else was sound asleep, and it took some convincing that it had actually happened the next morning when there was no house in sight. I have my proof in these pictures. We're not sure what happened, but the family staying there DID get out safely. Their suburban burned up in the accident, though. One more house (to the right in the picture) caught fire as well, but the fire fighter's were there in plenty of time to save that one. Pretty crazy.
