I'm reading this book right now. I'm really enjoying it.
The part I'm reading right now talks a lot about individual people's talents. The book is meant for managers...to learn about their associates. But I'm learning a lot about me. The book is helping me relax because lately I've had a lot of anxiety about needing to turn myself into a particular image I have of a business person, but this book really encourages the thinking that our differences can be our strengths and that we should spend more time finding ourselves and the right fit for who we already are, and less time trying to turn into some cookie-cutter employee (and/or leader). I've been taking advantage of this encouragement and have done my best to unleash the silly girl in me. I'm having fun. I think it makes me better at my job, too. That might not be true for any job, but I think I actually AM in the right job, and have just been trying to change myself into someone who might not be right for this job.
Yay, for being myself.
