A Special Blend

Musings of a young, artistic homeowner.

Location: Baltimore, Maryland, United States

I thought about a PhD in Literature, French or Latin. Almost enrolled in Georgetown's MBA program. Toyed with the idea of studying graphic design. But instead I've been working on a home grown MBA and self-tutored digital illustration. I absolutely love my job in the coffee/service industry, and could hardly ask for a happier life, here fixing up my house, fiddling on my computer, smiling at my customers...Life is good. (Next stop: small business of my own?)

Dad asked for more pictures, so here they are (in no particular order)...whoops, now the toilet will be greeting all who visit my blog.

I think I'll want a new toilet--this one looks very unluxurious :) Posted by Picasa

Our street is a very busy street. The white car is parked in a little drive way that belongs to a frat-house (one of the very few in this town). Past the car and house is Wyman Park and past that (out of view) is Mark's campus. Posted by Picasa

I guess I should stop whining now...I got a few pictures out of the camera...

I made this painting for a friend who is (forgive me if I translate the longer, academic version of her title incorrectly) a geologist. She told me she likes bright reds and oranges. It's a lot more interesting in person because you can see the odd little details. Posted by Picasa

The Horror

I'm feeling pretty devestated right now--my trusty digital camera (actually it's Mark's) has gone hay-wire. I got nothin'. I can't show you a picture of the painting I made yesterday or of my friend Lisa who came over and made jewelry while I painted. I can't even show you pictures of us eating Indian take-out and watching Pieces of April (which turned out to be a particularly heavy movie except for the last minute "everything is okay afterall" scene).

Ah well. I did, however, have the most delightfully, relaxing, pleasant, lazy day ever :)

The End, and the Beginning

Friday was my last day at my old job. Yay!! Yay!! Yay!!

Monday, I start my new job. I'm excited about that, too. (Just not enough to write "Yay!!" three times.)

I'm a little bummed that I don't have time (or the money) to take any time off in between. But it all works out because I've already got two trips to California planned for just this next month.
I've been enjoying going to these weddings so far, but the next two are in Santa Barbara and we're acutally staying a few days for each. Wooohooo! I do love Santa Barabara :)

Our new house?

Mark and I have a contract on a house. If all goes well, it will be ours (to pay mortgage on) by the end of August--yay! Posted by Picasa
