Back to Stay For a While
I'm back from my many weeks and consecutive weekends of travelling. I'm anxious to post pictures, and I have the camera ready in hand to upload pics. However, as I found myself re-separated from Mark for one more week (plus a weekend), I thereby also found myself separated from the cable which allows me to connect the camera to the computer.
So, for the time-being, I am limited to a pictureless post. And, since as they say a picture is worth a thousand words...well, I hope your comfortable because I had a lot of pictures to show. Okay, okay, I'll keep it as short as I can :)
So, as you can all see from my last post, I went to Cozumel for a week. (If you click on the link and then click on "Playa San Francisco" on the west coast, you'll see a panoramic view of the beach our villa was neighboring.)
Mark and I spent the last day of our vacation in Cancun. Boy was that different! We stayed at the Aquamarina Resort, which is exaggeratedly beautiful in the pictures on their site. It was definitely a hotel to get drunk at (all inclusive, drinks et al.)
We came back to the states exhausted, and I dragged myself to work on Monday, finally sick after keeping completely healthy through the whole trip.
By that Friday at closing time, I could barely believe it was time to rush off to Dulles Airport (an hour and a half drive) to fly all night back to California for my friend Bridget's wedding. I was picked up (very generously) at the San Francisco airport around midnight Pacific time, by two very exhausted Noble parents (Thank you Ed and Bonnie!), and I had the luxury of staying in thier SF apartment Friday and Saturday night.
Saturday morning I went to the massive Farmer's Market at the Ferry Building and in the afternoon Mark arrived...we caught the end of the Gay Pride Festival Parade. It was quite a show and there was an enormous turnout.
I spent the evening seeing all of my college girlfriends...we ate, we drank (a little), and we played Pictionary! Good times.
Bridget's wedding was a beautiful Jewish ceremony with a delicious Hawaiian flare representing Brendan's family's home and a tiny bit of Irish (free guiness for all!) to represent his heritage. But, unfortunately I had to leave during the reception to catch a red-eye to be back at work Monday morning (it was a Sunday wedding). This was the initial separation of the travelling duo (Mark and I)--so long as you don't count Friday night/Sat. morning.
Red-eye, two hour drive back to Baltimore (had to pull into a rest-stop and take a nap...scary) and straight to work for a 10 hour day.
Then, come this past Saturday morning, I found myself back at the airport (after many a long-distance phone call to my long-distanced boyfriend) flying to San Diego for my friend Rebecca's wedding. This wedding was also beautiful, out-doors, nice and warm with a refreshing breeze and blue skies, AND I didn't have to leave during the reception. I did, however, have to take Mark to the train station at 6:00 am after our 18 hour reunion (we met up at the SD airport) so that he could ride up and meet his family for a camping trip in Big Sur.
Then, around noon, I hopped back on a flight to Baltimore. And here I am this Saturday night, relaxing, though sadly Mark-less, and delighting in the fact that tomorrow is a holiday, and I have absolutely NO-where I have to be.
